Until The Quiet Comes (Video)
It’s been a little while since I’ve posted some actual music over here! Been busy listening to all these records I’m buying and with Turntable.fm which I’ve been frequenting a lot these days. Here’s a video that came out earlier this month with some selections from Flying Lotus’ new album Until the Quiet Comes. The full album can be streamed over on NPR right now. The record is incredible, I imagine after listening to this one a little more it will be my pick of the year (which up to this point had been Gangrene’s new album). This one is still on the Cosmogramma end, which is a bit more electronic and layered in comparison to Flylo’s earlier work and I am actually glad about this. I really enjoyed Cosmogramma and I think I would say this new album will even surpass it. This is something I am definitely going to get on wax, think I will go for the deluxe one that will be coming out. Even if I hadn’t listened to the whole thing on NPR, I think the 20-30 seconds from the first song of this video (which is from the ending of a track featuring Erykah Badu) would have sold me. Just listen to it, simply incredible.
Flying Lotus – Galaxy In Janaki
Another busy week, this time around with work AND moving into a new place. Will try to get some posts up this weekend. The new setup is looking nice, finally ditched the plastic crates for a fancy shelf for all my records. Will be posting some pictures soon!
Figured I’d post this song up tonight for a little update. Was cruising along the freeway late the other night and had this blasting. There are a lot of neat tracks on Cosmogramma, but this jam that ends the album is simply amazing. I’d go as far as saying this is the best track FlyLo has ever put out really.
Hopefully more regular posts will start showing up again next week!

Vismic Rhythm & Geekdown
Here’s an awesome video from Steve Smith that I shared over at my own site earlier this year. Datamoshing can be pretty sweet if done correctly and I’d definitely say that it’s nice here. The various selections from Flying Lotus’ Cosmogramma go great with it and I’d say that the video fits Flylo’s own video style pretty well.
Steve also did one of my favorite Stones Throw video contest entries last year which you can see below and has more recently worked on a video with Homeboy Sandman which you can check out here. Really neat stuff.
Flying Lotus – One for Pep Pep
I finished watching Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie for the second time last night and I’ve been listening to Flying Lotus’ Cosmogramma over the last couple of days, so I figure this was a good one to post. Such an awesome combo, especially digging the Sit on You beat. As one can probably tell from my personal website, I’m a huge T&E fan. It’s cool to see Flying Lotus is a fan as well.
