Fantastic video for Bey’s “Niggas in Poorest” that was released a few days ago. While I don’t think it’s necessarily a diss song on Kanye & Jay-Z’s version as some folks are seeing it, I definitely think it’s a strong hint to people about the direction that he wishes to see hip hop move towards. While Kanye and Jay-Z are babbling about a bunch of nonsense in “Paris” for their usual pop song, Bey is hitting some real points that the listener may relate to and think about seriously. Not a surprise though, Mos has been doing this for many years now. It’s nice to see folks like him (and Talib!) receive more exposure lately, 2012 is looking like a good year for this kind of music.
