Wu-Tang Clan – Execution in Autumn (“Pay what you like” 7-inch)
Received an e-mail from Soul Temple earlier tonight regarding the shipping issues they’ve been having lately which explains the delay on my instrumental copy of Twelve Reasons To Die that I ordered a few weeks ago. In response to this issue they have released an exclusive/unreleased track from RZA’s vault titled Execution in Autumn which features RZA, U-God, Raekwon, and Inspectah Deck and production from Frank Dukes which you can hear above. What’s really awesome though is that they are releasing the track and instrumental on a “pay what you feel basis” 7-inch record which can be purchased until May 31st. Nice track and awesome deal on the 7-inch, definitely makes up for the slow shipping in my opinion. You can download the song and purchase the 7-inch over here.
The e-mail from Soul Temple can be read in the spoiler: Show ▼

Daft Punk – Get Lucky (Teaser)
Earlier last week someone posted the shaky cam video from the teaser shown at Coachella and everyone around the internet (including myself) has gotten even more excited about the new Daft Punk album that is releasing next month. Like the teaser for the song that was put out last month, the longer ad featuring Pharrell and Nile Rodgers was played on last night’s Saturday Night Live. It’s nice to finally see a high quality version of the video.
The song is really really good, it’s just too bad that we haven’t gotten anymore of it than this (it’s so short I have to keep playing it over and over again). I’m also digging the style of everything associated with this record so far like the album art, the stylized lettering of the album’s title, and just the way everything looks in the video above really. Right now I’d have to say that Random Access Memories and Danny Brown’s Old are two of my most anticipated releases of the year so far. Can’t wait for next month!

Django Django – WOR (Video)
I’ve never listened to Django Django before but this has to be one of the coolest videos I’ve seen so far this year. The description for the video on Youtube is perfect:
Mercury music prize nominees Django Django became obsessed by the infamous Indian Well of Death riders in Allahabad. So, naturally, they asked Noisey if we’d be up for travelling over to India and standing right in the middle of large lumps of precariously speeding metal for a day, to film a video for their track “Wor”. We happily obliged, getting our shoes stolen in the process, but it was worth it to meet a bunch of guys with the most rock solid testicles we’ve ever come across.
The song is also really good too, will have to listen to some more of this stuff for sure.
Madvillainy Samples Mix
Madvillain – Madvillainy (Samples Mix) by Boom Bap Beatnik on Mixcloud
Fantastic mix with every sample from Madvillainy presented by Hip Hop Is Read. Listening to this all the way through with the samples put together in order by each song is quite an experience! You’ll always see lists with all of these samples for classic albums but it’s really cool that someone took the effort to put it all together for everyone to listen to all the way through. If you’re feeling this, go ahead and follow @IvanRott. Looks like he’s covered a lot of other classics with sample mixes of their own, check it out over here.
Some New Avant-Garde
It’s been about a year since sharing some of Avant-Garde’s music last and I’m happy to say there’s even more stuff to share with you now. Spent the last hour checking this new work and I have to say while his old stuff was very good, you can definitely tell that he’s been hard at work lately creating an even more refined sound. I said it last time and I’ll say it again, if Trevor doesn’t get some decent following sometime in the future I figure everyone is just sleeping big time.
It’s looking like a new release will be coming out later this month titled Pigeon. Be sure to keep an eye out for this, I imagine it’ll be even more good stuff. If you are digging what you hear, be sure to follow Avant-Garde over on Twitter and check out his blog Endless Euphony.
Ahu Mixes Paul White (2007)
I will usually try to avoid posting about an artist two times in a row, but I ran into this awesome mix that I have to share. This was uploaded over on Paul White’s Soundcloud just yesterday, though it was originally made back in 2007. According to this older upload, Ahu had put together a selection of tracks from early Paul White beat tapes to create this 45 minute mix. A download can be found over here. Definitely worth checking out!
Nicolay & Kay – Tight Eyes Ft. Oh No & The Luv Bugz (Kensaye Remix)
I’ve been getting some new music sent to my e-mail (waxrambleATgmailDOTcom) the last couple of weeks and while some of it has been alright I haven’t felt inclined to post over here until now. Kensaye sent this track my way and I have to say I really like the remix. I hadn’t heard the original track before, it is really good too! Kensaye did a nice job putting his spin on it and a review of his Soundcloud shows some other good remixes too (especially diggin the Roots rework). Follow him over @Kensaye1.

Daft Punk SNL Teaser
Saw this tonight and thought it was great. I didn’t catch this during SNL last night which is too bad, seeing it during a commercial break would have been sweet! They haven’t put out a record in years so it is exciting to get even just a tiny glimpse of what’s to come. I was looping it up in Audacity myself but found someone else did a fancy loop already over here. I like the sound a lot so far, I imagine the new album is going to be an awesome return for them when it is released later this spring.
J Dilla the Greatest
Today is the last day of Dilla month, so I thought I would share a cool video from Karriem Riggins that was put out recently. This is the final track of his excellent Alone Together album. It is interesting to hear and see the process of how the song is put together. The sample he is referring to in the video is from Featuring Phat Kat of Welcome to Detroit. A fantastic tribute to J Dilla, RIP.
